Guillermo Rigondeaux remained undefeated after getting a controversial knockout ruling victory from the officials of the bout.

Rigodeaux (18-0, 11 KO's) landed a punch after the bell was sounded to end the first round, which knocked Flores (25-1, 17 KO's) out of his consciousness for few seconds.

Referee Vic Draculich not able to make a quick decision as when the punch actually landed. The sequence of the knockout has been replayed few times. It was clear that Rigo's punch landed after the bell based on the replay. But it took the officials of the bout to come with a decision. What added to the confusion was Rigondeaux holding the back of the head of Flores during exchanges. But Rigo was no longer holding at the back of Flores' head when the brutal punch landed.

Finally, the official decision was announced by Michael Buffer. It was ruled out that the punch was legal resulting to a knockout. Hence, Rigo remained a world champion with a KO victory over Flores.

Undefeated super bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz (28-0-1, 16 KO's) said that he is tired of people telling him that he is  scared of a Rigondeaux fight. "He [Rigondeaux] is not invisible.", said Santa Cruz during the open media workout on Thursday at Who's Next Boxing Academy in preparation for his upcoming title defense agaisnt Jesus "Estrella" Ruiz (33-5-5, 22 KOs) on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

"I feel bad for all the people talking, but if they were in my shoes they would understand. I want the Rigondeaux fight, but the promoters have not come to an agreement. If it was up to me, I would fight him whenever. I am tired of people telling me that I am scared. I am looking for that fight as soon as possible, he is not invisible."

Santa Cruz  further said that he have a chance to beat Rigondeuax, "I think I have a chance to beat him. I know he is a tough fighter, but that's what we are here for, to fight the best."

Hey boxing fans! Before you start popping up your "Fighter of the Year" and whatever you think were the best among the best in 2014. You better wait for the outcome of those matches that will be held in Japan before the year ends. Maybe one of those bouts steal the "Fight of the Year" that's on your mind right now.

Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KO's) will be back in the ring against unheralded Hisashi Amagasa (28-4-2, 19 KO's) for Rigondeaux’s RING, WBO and WBA titles at the Bodymaker Colosseum, Osaka, Japan. This will be his second straight fight outside the US. Rigo will be coming in from a short night win over Sod Kokietgym in Macau last July. A fight that Rigo infamously won. The won seemingly was the product of a "cheap shot". Against Amagasa, I think Rigo should deliver something other than boxing clinic -- make the fight exciting -- to detach the word "boring" on his boxing style.

Take a look at the rest of scheduled matches that will be held in Osaka and Tokyo, Japan before the promising year 2015 comes.

Make sure you watch them all, while having your favorite beer on your couch waiting for the new year. For me, as a boxing fan, these fights have no match to any firecrackers ever made, as one of these bouts could be war!

This past weekend, the "Champions of Gold" boxing card in Macau produced the anticipated results with ease. The main man of the card, Zou Shiming won via unanimous decision to the tune of 99-91, 99-91, and 97-93. Although Shiming (5-0, 1 KO) still unable to duplicate the lone win via knockout (he's looking for that KO the entire fight but his punching power would not warrant the KO) in his career, dominated Luis De la Rosa of Columbia the entire fight. His quickness and boxing carried the night This was Shiming's first full ten-round fight. It seems, he will be gearing up for world title, for his next fight.

Cuban former two-time Olympic gold medalist, Guillermo Rigondeaux (14-0, 9 KO) had stepped up his game and wanted to erase the notion that he's a "boring" fighter. In the process of doing so, he extremely rushed to the extent that it looked like a bad win for him. In Round 1, for me, it looks like he pulled a Mayweather cheap shot that finished the still head-butt-dizzy Sod Kokietgym of Thailand. You can find my complete observation of the fight here.

Fil-American Brian Viloria (34-4, 20 KO), also won with ease against Jose Alfredo Zuniga who was not able to get up after absorbing a left hook to the body that appeared to be a liver-punch, in Round 5.

Although Guillermo Rigondeaux keeps on winning fights, but the question is: Did he gain more fans or drive fans away because of his style?

There's nothing more that can be said about the Cuban two-time Olympic Gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux, on his shutout victory against Joseph Agbeko of Ghana on HBO Triple Header, Saturday night, rather than describing how good he is.

Guillermo Rigondeaux is just too good and has all the textbook tricks you could ask for a prizefighter. He is fast, slick, and mastered the art of hitting without getting hit. This is the byproduct of 475 amateur fights. What else I need to say? There's no action.

It’s a snoozer for those who love slugfest.

However, if you truly understand boxing, you should admire Rigondeaux mastery of the sweet science.

The thing lacking for Rigo is drama inside/outside the ring and ability to speak English. I think Rigondeaux should incorporate the drama aspect. Only few those who assume the villain role of boxing that Floyd Mayweather does best.

Rigo should better blow his own horn and promote his brand of boxing, before all his remaining fans will believe that he's truly boring. He can brag to the highest level because he has the talent to back it up. Because Rigo fights like Floyd, he should talk like Floyd to stay relevant to the pocket of the paying fans.

After Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist, Guillermo Rigondeaux taught 2012 fighter of the year, Nonito Donaire, how to run; I mean how to box in a way that an opponent will look silly. Instead of hearing praises from HBO for showcasing his extremely superior boxing skills, he was labeled as 'boring fighter', and 'is hard to promote'.

What all fighters wanted every time they enter the savage ring is to win the fight, whatever it takes. At some point, fighters even resorted to; out-of-the-rule-book tactics, just to win fights. But Rigondeaux 12-0-0 (KO 8), gave Donaire none of these unacceptable tactics. But instead gave him extreme frustration: frustration, as to how to catch 'The Jackal' without getting hit. But Regondeaux is the one who perfected the art of hitting without getting hit on their April encounter.

After the fight, although Rigondeaux hands rose for victory, I assume when the message was translated for him about HBO comments, he might feel the same frustration as Donaire.

At times I wonder about double standards HBO in handling fighters. Andre Ward I think has the tendency to be even more boring that Rigondeaux because of his hit-hug style. Hopkins who mastered this technique, but why are still HBO's favorites?

I'm in doubt also of the timing of labeling Rigo as 'boring fighter' by HBO in April. That was the time when Floyd revealed that he had a six-fight mega contract with Showtime, and will no longer have HBO for his fights. It's like saying: "hey Floyd, Rigo is just as boring as you, and we don't need you here".

Rigondeaux will return to the ring against Joseph Agbeko 29-4-0 (KO 22), on Saturday night for Rigo's world super bantamweight twin title belts for HBO's Triple Header at the Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City.

I don't know why Rigo still headline here after that statement from HBO? Maybe he will be up to this level only not the PPV type.

Will Guillermo Rigondeaux change his style and brawls Agbeko in order to satisfy HBO?

I think he'll not, because this is what Rigo is, and he's good at boxing technically. Too damn good at it that he will cruise to a unanimous 12 rounds victory against Joseph Agbeko.

Yes. That's my prediction man for Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Joseph Agbeko.
