Watch Canada's David Lemieux's spectacular one-punch KO over Spike O'Sullivan during their middleweight clash at the undercard of GGG vs Canelo 2 at the T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada.

Lemieux caught O'Sullivan in the very first round with a counter left hook that lands right on the pipe. O'Sullivan went down for good. The referee stopped the fight as O'Sullivan in no position to continue. Official time of the stoppage: 2:44 mark in the first round.

With all the trash talking leading into the fight, it was nice to see the fighters hug each other after the fight.

LAS VEGAS (Sept. 13, 2018): The undercard of the spectacular Canelo vs. GGG 2 card hosted a press conference featuring Mexican star Jaime Munguia ( 30-0, 25 KOs), who will make the second defense of his WBO Junior Middleweight World Title against rugged Canadian contender Brandon "Bad Boy" Cook (20-1, 13 KOs) in a 12-round battle. Former IBF Middleweight World Champion David Lemieux (39-4, 33 KOs) of Montreal, Canada and Irish warrior Gary "Spike" O'Sullivan (28-2, 20 KOs) of Cork, Ireland will go head-to-head in a 12-round middleweight battle that has Fight of the Year candidate written all over it. Former pound-for-pound king and former four-division world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez (46-2, 38 KOs) of Managua, Nicaragua will make his highly anticipated return against experienced Mexican warrior Moises "Moi" Fuentes (25-5-1, 14 KOs) in a 10-round super flyweight battle that will open the HBO Pay-Per-View telecast.

David Lemieux vs Curtis Stevens will headline HBO Boxing After Dark on March 11 at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in New York for a 12-round middleweight fight.

Well, many showed disappointment for a Lemieux-Stevens fight. Mostly were boxing fans who waited for a non-ppv boxing match on HBO. For them Lemieux-Stevens is a undercardesque match-up. They're looking for better, free fight on TV. Fed up of high PPV subscriptions to star fighter match-ups and at times not delivering the goods.

But make no mistake, if you look at it, Lemieux-Stevens is a guaranteed all-action match. Both men don't like to step back, hard hitters and looking for knockout victories. Lemieux has 82% knockout ratio while Stevens has 62% knockout rate on his ledger. Put them together and it's gonna be a hell of a fight.

As a boxing fan, I don't care who were the fighters shared a ring. As long as you I will see a good, competitive and action-packed fight, I'm good.

The worst thing about watching boxing is when you see a one-sided beat-down because of bad match-making. These were results of so-called tune-up fights, stay busy fights. Whatever you called it. Just to match an A level fighter to like C level fighter to boost the A level fighter's activity, stock and or record.

Lemieux-Stevens is not at all what I mentioned above. Both men are strong middleweights contenders. What's interesting is that both men lost to Gennady Golovkin. I'm sure they want to prove that they're just one level below Golovkin at the middleweight division.

Lemieux had set his eyes for another shot at the world title.

"I've told everyone my goal is to once again become middleweight champion of the world. Curtis is in the way, and I'm going to go right through him," said Lemieux.

If other boxing fans feel that this is a lousy match-up HBO can give on TV, well, for me, this is a must-see fight.

Canadian David Lemieux (34-2, 31KO's) was full of confidence during the final press conference for his middleweight title unification bout against Gennady Golovkin held Mecca of Boxing, Madison Square Garden.

Lemieux told sports media present at the press conference that he will not leave empty-handed on Saturday night, 17 October.

"I have made a lot of changes in my life. All of I what I have done has lead me here and I am extremely excited and proud to be here. I am here to make history and I promise that I have done everything it takes to make sure that I don't leave empty handed I will leave with the belts." says Lemieux.

Lemieux had already faced defeat in his career before and he took this experience as an advantage against his undefeated opponent. "I have faced victories, defeats, but nothing is more exciting and more gratifying than victory such as I am planning on Saturday", says Lemieux.

So here we go fight fans! This is a fight that doesn't happen every Saturday night. It's a fight between two fighters that come forward. Two fighters that don't know how to step back. This is war!

I used to see fighters working on with a heavy bag that has a photo of their upcoming opponent pasted on it. But on mitts? It's something new. Two identical photos of Gennady Golovkin were pasted on David Lemeiux mitts. 

Lemieux will face Golovkin for a middleweight title unification on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Madison Square Garden.

Middleweight titlist David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada said that Golovkin has not faced a fighter like him before during a public media workout held at the historic Forum in Montreal today.

Lemieux is set to face middleweight multi-titlist Gennady "GGG" Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) in a highly anticipated title unification on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Madison Square Garden.

"Golovkin has not faced a fighter like me before. I am an aggressive fighter and I am confident in my abilities. I feel that I will be successful on Oct. 17." said Lemeiux.

If you're going to look at it, yes, Golovkin may have not faced a fighter like Lemeiux before. Lemieux is the type of fighter who really comes forward and throws hard punches. But the question there is: how durable he is when hit also by power punches coming forward?

We all knew that both fighters are capable of knocking opponents out. I think the difference is that Golovkin really has power in both hands capable of knocking anyone in the division with just one punch, but Lemieux overwhelms an opponent with series of punches wearing them down before stopping them.

This is a very exciting fight and is interesting to watch.

If you do not know who the reigning IBO/WBA middleweight titlist Gennady "GGG" Golovkin is, then you will get to know him very well after you watch him take on IBF middleweight titlist David Lemieux in Madison Square Garden on October 17th. According to Andre Ward's trainer Virgil Hunter, when Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao are long gone from the sport, GGG will be one of the fighters to carry the torch in keeping boxing in the forefront. I tend to agree with Hunter, but only for a short time frame, since Golovkin is 33 years of age.

Golovkin is 33-0 with 30 knockouts. The man has a 91% percent knockout ratio, the highest in boxing today. He was a silver medalist in the 2004 Olympic games and has never been dropped or knocked out in over 375 fights in the amateurs or the pros. GGG has an educated "Mexican style" where he pressures his opponents with subtle head movement, a stiff jab, and a left hook to the body that will fold anyone who dare expose a rib cage. GGG does not just stand in front of his opponents and throw careless punches. He has excellent positioning, footwork, and most of all power. But some say he has been carefully brought up in the professional ranks and has not fought any quality opponents in their prime. That changes against Lemieux.

Lemieux is the pride of Montreal, Quebec, Canada who holds a record of 34-2 with 31 knockouts. Lemieux also puts pressure on his opponents, ripping left and right hooks to the head and body, with the capability of knocking anyone out with either hand. Lemieux has won the Canadian Amateur Championships three times but was never interested in qualifying for the Olympics. Although during Lemieux's professional career, he has stepped up against quality opponents. Two of which were in his losses against Rubio and Alcine.

Like many power punchers, Lemieux has relied on his power to end fights quickly. With power comes exhaustion. With exhaustion comes vulnerability. With vulnerability comes getting hit. And that's exactly what happened to Lemieux in those losses. He loaded up his deadly hooks, got tired, and got stopped by Rubio and was defeated in a majority decision by Alcine.

In Lemieux's most recent fights, he has gotten better utilizing the jab, moving his head, and keeping his defense tight. Tactics that he had better use against Golovkin. In GGG's most recent fights, he has appeared vulnerable, getting tagged as he is standing and banging. Golovkin attributes that to the fans getting their money's worth. I really doubt he wanted to expose himself with the risk of getting knocked out.

In his latest interview, Golovkin, with his million dollar smile and jovial personality, expressed he is "scared" of his next opponent. Do I believe him? No, I don't. Lemieux better choose his punches wisely against the seasoned tactician and GGG better not open himself up to this young deadly puncher. Lemieux said he is going to shock the world come October 17th when he defeats Golovkin, becoming a multi titlist middleweight of the world. I believe the young lion will be stopped in 8 in this potential fight of the year candidate.

Canadian boxer David Lemieux promised that there will be blood on October 17 when he faces the Gennady Golovkin in the the ring at the Madison Square Garden.

"I respect Golovkin I think he is great fighter, but I'm not here to be his friend I am here to be is opponent. I promise you, there will be blood" says Lemieux.

Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) is a tremendous knockout artist who sport 31 wins by way of stoppage out of 34 victories in his ledger. He will be facing yet another knockout artist in Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) who is undefeated in 33 fights and had 30 wins inside the distance.

That being said, this is gonna be a must-see middleweight contest, wherein Lemieux already promised that there will blood. Who draws more blood still remains to be seen as both fighters have the power to knockout each other. This is gonna be painful for both fighter.

And yeah! This fight gets even more intriguing as it is being reported that the winner of this fight will face also the winner of Cotto-Canelo fight, which is another massive fight coming up.

Hard hitting undefeated middleweight Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs) will face yet another hard hitting 160 pound titlist David Lemieux (34-2, 31 KOs) for a unification bout on 17 October at the Madison Square Garden on HBO PPV.

Following a crowd-pleasing fight debut in American soil, Canadian David Lemieux (33-2, 31 KO's) signed an exclusive promotional contract with Golden Boy Promotions. In a press release, Lemieux said that he is "very pleased" and "excited" with GBP's association.

"I am very pleased and excited with my association with Golden Boy Promotions," said David Lemieux. "I am ready to face the best and this is the mission that I give to Camille Estephan at Eye of the Tiger Management and Oscar De La Hoya and Eric Gomez at Golden Boy Promotions."

Lemieux scored a knockdown in the third round and eventually won a technical knockout in the tenth round against Gabriel Rosado last year. Rosado, a known bleeder, left eye was swollen shut, forcing the ringside doctor to stop the contest.

In order to settle a lawsuit against GBP's former CEO, Richard Shaefer, GBP surrendered promotional rights to Haymon-advised fighters. Golden Boy Promotions tried to strengthened their pool of fighters by signing international and local talents.

I think signing Lemieux could somehow help fortified the breached Golden Boy banner.

"I learned a lot from my last fight. More of the work was on my boxing skills. Mentally, I wasn't ready for my last fight but I still went in there and did what I had to do. I didn't get the victory but for this one I'm 100 percent clear minded and ready to go in there.

"After this fight I'm excited to spend time with my baby, My newborn daughter. I just got a baby girl and my drive, it's just there more. Before it was just for me but now I have do it for me and my daughter to make sure we're good.

"I just want to go in there and show off my boxing skills and show what I've learned. I'm not really looking for the knockout...you never know until you get in there though, if it comes it comes but if I have to go the distance I'll go the distance."

Gabriel Rosado wanted to move to that "next level". He hired Jesse Reid as his new trainer for his fight against David Lemieux (32-2, 30 KO's) on Saturday night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It's been ages since Gabriel Rosado won a fight. The last fight he fought wherein his hands raised was on September 2012 against Charles Whittaker. That was more than two years. Now, can Jesse Reid guide Rosado back to the winning column? This question will be answered on Saturday night and I'm excited.

Rosado dropped his long time trainer Billy Briscoe who trained him for about ten years. But according to Rosado it was "difficult" and that Billy is like family to him.

It was difficult, but the thing is that me and Billy, we're like family and when I brought it to Billy's attention, what he told me is he felt that if that's what I feel that I need to do to progress, he was all in and he said it was fine.

Rosado assured that they parted ways on a good note. "We parted ways on a good note; I spoke with him not so long ago, a couple-probably about last week" says Rosado.

Rosado (21-8, 13 KO's) is 0-4 from his last four fights. He got two knockout losses against middleweight top guns -- Gennady Golovkin and Peter Quillin in 2013. A decision lost also to J'Leon Love that was later overturned. Love found positive for banned diuretics.

Although Rosado has not won since 2012, but he's always fun and entertaining to watch regardless who is in the opposite corner. Rosado's always there to fight. He has a heart of a champion. But it is obvious that there should be something that must be improved in order for him to move in that “next level”. On top of that he’s also a bleeder. Cut had kept him away from world title.

I'm excited to see what improvements Reid can incorporate on Rosado's limited skills and as a fighter in general. Rosado told that he's having a great camp and he's ready to roll. "I'm having a great camp; I'm excited about this fight. This is the last week of sparring and I'm just ready to roll" says Rosado.

Jesse Reid is one of the best trainers in the world. He's trained 25 World Champions and its funny how it just worked out."
