Fight is sealed and set!

Cotto-Canelo has been the much talked about fight for a while. Although negotiations fell apart earlier this year, but for now Cotto-Canelo is officially set!

The classic Puerto Rico vs. Mexico rivalry will take place on November 21. at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas live on HBO pay-per-view.

The Cotto-Canelo fight has been considered the alternative mega-fight during the pre-Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. This fight could have been the biggest fight this year if May-Pac didn’t happen.

Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 42 KO’s) may seized the Cinco de Mayo date from Floyd by facing Cotto in May. And also if the Mayweather-Pacquiao did not materialize.

However, Mayweather-Pacquiao did happen and Cotto-Canelo negotiations also fell apart.

Cotto-Canelo negotiations started early this year. But Mexican superstar pulled out from the Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33 KO's) negotiation. He took James Kirkland in May instead.

Canelo didn’t get an answer from Cotto’s camp about the potential middleweight match-up. But Oscar Dela Hoya is optimistic that the two superstars will meet down the line.

Cotto-Canelo may not surpass the revenue Mayweather-Pacquaio generated. But action wise, I think, we have a potential fight of the year candidate. This fight could be much more entertaining than the dull fight of the century.
