Sharif "The Lion" Bogere faces unknown Aaron Melgarejo

Sharif "The Lion" Bogere faces unknown Aaron MelgarejoJourneyman Aaron Melgarejo of Binan City, Laguna, Philippines is likely to be feed to Sharif "The Lion" Bogere. The two lightweights will meet on Thursday, Oct. 30, as the co-main event on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes' Golden Boy Live! series will be held at Plymouth, Massachusetts' Plymouth Memorial Hall.

The unknown Melgarejo (17-7-1, KO 6) will be up against highly rated lightweight Bogere (25-1, KO 17) in a 10 Round lightweight match up. Bogere is the number 8 lightweight in the world according to the Transnational Boxing Ranking Board.

I don't want to write off the Filipino journeyman. It's not my type. But it seems to me that he has nothing to do in the same ring against Bogere. Although this is a big opportunity for Melgarejo to become a legit contender at lightweight if he beat Bogere. But the possibility for him to pull this up seemed so skinny. Anyhow, you know, in boxing, nothing is impossible. One punch can change everything.

Framingham, Massachusetts' Danny "Bhoy" O'Connor and Virginia's Andrew Farmer will headlined this fight card.
